Rolling Stone revisits the controversy surrounding “Napalm Girl”

Rolling Stone magazine has published an article on The Stringer, the documentary that investigates the history of the famous war photograph known as Napalm Girl, to which Index contributed its expertise.

The Stringer questions the traditional attribution to Nick Ut and examines how war images become political symbols. Index contributed to this film by providing its expertise in image analysis and putting into perspective the controversies surrounding this photograph.

The Rolling Stone article highlights the film team’s long-term investigation, as well as the ethical and memorial issues it raises. The Stringer is scheduled for release in the fall.
