Death of Nahel: the police officer who fired the shot will be tried for murder

Almost two years after the incident, on Tuesday, June 3, the prosecutor and the president of the Nanterre court announced that the police officer who shot and killed Nahel on June 27, 2023, will be tried for murder in criminal court. The trial of the police officer under investigation could take place in 2026 before the Hauts-de-Seine criminal court.

The judges also dismissed the case against the other official present at the time of the incident, who had previously been a witness for complicity in murder.
